DRIVING
LICENCE
Minimum Age:
18 years for Light Motor Vehicles (LMV).
20 years for Heavy Motor Vehicles (provided you have 1 year driving license of
LMV) 1)
Procudure for obtaining a
learners driving licence : Before
applying for a permanent driving licence one has to obtain a learners
driving licence, the procedure is as follows: a)
Necessary application form duly filled. b)
Proof of age. c)
Proof of residence. d)
4 passport size photographs. e)
Necessary fees. 2)
PROCEDURE FOR OBTAINIGN A PERMANENT DRIVING LICENCE : Now
that you have a LDL (valid for six months) you have to wait for a period
of minimum 1 month to enable you to give a driving / riding test to the
concerned authority on the passing of which you can obtain a permanent
driving licence. Note:
It is a serious offence to drive / ride a vehicle without licence.
There is a penalty
of Rs. 500/- and / or imprisonment upto 3 months. Every
driver must be conversant with the provisions of section 112, 113, 121,
122, 125, 132, 134, 185, 186, 194 and 207 of the Motor Vehicle Act, 1988.
